Advice on your side of the table.
When engaged as your buyer’s advocate, we act for you as the prospective buyer, rather than the vendor or selling broker. We bring a commercial perspective informed by valuation experience to help you assess earnings, risk, value and the fit with your objectives.
Start with a review of a business you have already identified, or engage us for a targeted search and broader acquisition support. Each stage is scoped and agreed with you before work begins.
Found a business? Test the opportunity.
A buy-side commercial review examines the information supplied by the broker and vendor, such as financial statements, BAS, management accounts and the business profile. We assess maintainable earnings, consider relevant comparable sales where available, and form an advisory view on whether the asking price is supported.
The agreed review can include a recommendation report covering key risks, gaps in the information, questions for the vendor and broker, and a recommended offer and negotiation approach. A review session helps you understand the findings and decide your next steps.
Choose the support you need.
01. Search and shortlist
Define your industry, location, business size, budget and return expectations. Research suitable businesses and approach owners discreetly, including potential off-market opportunities.
02. Review and appraise
Examine financial performance, quality of earnings and commercial risks. Consider staffing costs, lease commitments, transferable goodwill and growth potential, according to the business and agreed scope.
03. Negotiate and represent
Get support on your offer, price, terms and conditions. Where engaged, we liaise with the broker and vendor on your behalf and explore commercial deal structures to help manage risk.
04. Support through settlement
Arrange additional support such as site inspections and commercial coordination from contract to settlement, working alongside your legal, accounting and finance advisers.
One stage or support from search to settlement.
You choose how much support you need. The scope, deliverables and fees are agreed in writing before each stage begins, and additional work is agreed separately.
Buyer registration is a separate starting point: submit your criteria so we can consider you for relevant opportunities coming through the agency. It does not engage us to undertake a dedicated search.
Commercial appraisal or formal valuation?
A buyer-side appraisal supports your purchase decision and negotiations. It is advisory work, not an independent valuation report for lending, taxation, court or other third-party purposes. Explore formal business valuation requirements →

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a target business before engaging you?
No. We can agree a targeted search based on your acquisition criteria, including discreet approaches to owners. If you have already found a business, you can start with a commercial review and appraisal of that opportunity.
What happens during due diligence?
We review the financial and operational information supplied, identify commercial risks and information gaps, and coordinate questions with your specialist advisers. The review is not an audit or independent verification unless separately agreed. Legal, tax, accounting and finance advice remain with the relevant specialists.
Can you guarantee that I will find or acquire a business?
No. The service supports the acquisition process. Finding a suitable business and completing a transaction depend on the opportunities available, your assessment and agreement with a seller.
